About Us

The Wilton History Group was established on December 10, 2003, by interested residents following a successful “History Day” that was held on November 8, 2003. This first Wilton History Day was the result of the vision and work of Dorothy Campbell, a long time resident of the Wilton community.

The first official meeting was held on January 26, 2004. The group’s objectives include preserving, protecting, and maintaining the history of the Wilton Area. In our relatively short existence, we have accomplished a great deal. We have oral interviews of many of our long time residents. We have a growing collection of scanned and original photographs of early Wilton. Of course we are hoping many others will share photographs and memorabilia maintained in their family collections. We can scan original photographs using a process that will not damage the original and then return it to the owner. Donated items of historical significance are always welcome. Also valued items can be placed on loan for specific periods of time for presentation.

We are organized through bylaws and have non-profit 501 (3) status. Our membership is made up of many of your neighbors giving active participation in various events and projects.

The area of Wilton is rich in history and we are excited about preserving and showcasing it for future generations.
