I posed a question to wiltonhistorygroup.org, and it didn’t go through. Can you tell me how the town got it’s name? Thank you.
There was a landowner named Seth Wilton, who had property along the Cosumnes River. When the railroad came along, they put in a train stop and named it Wilton. That was around 1908. Seth is buried up in Jackson. And we have no records of any later relatives. Thank for asking.
